Milledgeville – Ira L. Bryant, age 75, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his family. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 3:00 P.M. in Buckhorn Methodist Church Cemetery in Laurens County.

Ira was born on August 30, 1948, in Hawkinsville. He was the son of the late, Arthur Cleveland, Sr. and Mildred English Bryant and was preceded in death by his siblings, Paula Bryant Worthington, Arthur "Acee" Cleveland Bryant, Jr. and Sonny Bryant Wilder. Mr. Ira was a graduate of Dodge County High School, class of 1966. He was a US Marine veteran having served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Ira was retired and had worked as a justice of the peace, a police officer with Dublin Police Department, an Operations Manager at Coliseum Hospital in Macon and as an accountant at Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara Bryant of Milledgeville; his sons, Troy Bryant of Milledgeville and Eric (Ann) Bryant of Gainesville; grandchildren, Michalla Bryant and Madison Bryant of Athens and Michael Thomason of Madison, WI; several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends after the service Sunday at Buckhorn Methodist Church Cemetery.
