Cochran – Jackie Lane Sanders, age 71, died Tuesday, April 6, 2021, in Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville. Memorial services will be held Friday, April 9, 2021, at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home.

Jackie, born in Hawkinsville, was raised in Macon and had lived most of his life Cochran. He was the son of the late Augustus Grady "Buddy" Sanders and Lucy Smith Sanders Bone and was preceded in death by his brother Wayne Sanders. He was retired from Blue Bird Bus Company and had worked at Lithonia Lighting. He was US Navy Veteran having served in the Vietnam War. Jackie was a Christian.

Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Sherie Roland Sanders of Cochran; his children, Chris (Teresa) Sanders of Eastman and Brad (Sonya) Sanders of Cochran; his grandchildren, Jordan Alayne Sanders, Jaylee Sanders, Michael Lawson and Makayla Lucyanna Sanders; his sister, Sherry (Jason) Ledbetter of Cochran; his brother-in-law, Mike (Julie) Roland of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 132 Carol Dr., Cochran and will greet friends after the service Friday at Mathis Funeral Home.
