Obituary

Cochran – Jackson E. "Jack" Scott, age 89, died Friday, July 24, 2020, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 27, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home with masonic funeral rites. Burial will be private in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Jack, born in Screven County, GA had lived in Empire before moving to Cochran in 1973. He was the son of the late Thomas Winfield and Julia Carrie Bazemore Scott. He was a wildlife manager at Ocmulgee Wildlife Management Area for the State of Georgia Department of Natural Resources and a US Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Cochran Masonic Lodge #217 F&AM and a member of the Cochran First United Methodist Church. Mr. Jack was a master turkey call craftsman.

Survivors are his wife, Shirley B. Scott of Cochran; his children, Connie (Greg) Brown of Howard and Jennifer Scott of Eastman; his grandchildren, Bethani (Stephen) McNelly of Columbus, Brian Brown and Will Brown of Howard; great grandchildren, Georgia Reese and Hunter McNelly of Columbus; step-son, Buddy Savory of NC; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 124 Creekwood Dr., Cochran and will greet friends after the service Monday at Mathis Funeral Home.
