Augusta, GA – Jacqueline Giddens, 96, wife of the late Eschol Giddens, entered into rest on Monday, April 28, 2025, after a long and beautiful life.
Jackie was born in Wembley, England and moved to the United States in 1946 as a war bride. She settled in Cochran, GA where she and Eschol raised their three children. While in Cochran, she worked in the Bleckley County School System in many roles but she was most beloved in her role as school bus driver.
In 1989, she moved to Augusta where she lived for over 30 years. She spent her time in Augusta volunteering as a Pink Lady at the former St Joseph Hospital. She also volunteered and was later employed at Catholic Social Services for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed coloring, spending time with her family, and shopping as she was always impeccably dressed. Jackie is survived by her 3 children: Linda Giddens, Phillipa Andrews (Worth) and Jeffrey Giddens; 10 grandchildren: Philip Taylor, Wesley Taylor, Kelly Foskey, Janie Trull, JJ Trull, Elizabeth Blitch, Worth Andrews IV, Cole Giddens, Sydney Rous, and Madison Giddens; 19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a sister: Diana Sturley. She was preceded in death by her husband: Eschol Giddens; and her parents: Gwendolyn and Phillip Brown.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Macedonia Baptist Church in Cochran. Burial will be in the church cemetery
