Cochran – James Quinton Floyd, age 82, died Friday, February 7, 2020, in Serenity Hospice in Dublin. Memorial services will be held Sunday, February 9, 2020, at 2:00 P.M. in the First United Methodist Church in Cochran. Burial will be in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.
Quinton, born in Dodge County, had lived most of his life in Cochran. He was the son of the late James Blanton and Audie Mae Martin Floyd and was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Floyd and Robert Floyd. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base, a 1956 graduate of Cochran High School, a US Army Veteran, and enjoyed sports. Quinton was a former amateur baseball player, charter member and former club champion at Uchee Trail Golf Club. He was an avid tennis, basketball, and softball player and enjoyed fishing. Quinton attended Cochran First United Methodist Church and loved his family.
Survivors are his wife, Janelle F. Floyd of Cochran; his children, Quent (Christy) Floyd and Reed Floyd of Cochran; grandson, Jake Floyd of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.
Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 87, Cochran, GA 31014 or Bleckley County Tennis Program, One Royal Drive, Cochran, GA 31014
The family is at 140 Sandpiper Road, Cochran and will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
