Obituary

Cochran – James Calvin Grenade, age 83, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13th, at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 16th, at 11:00 A.M. at Southside Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

Calvin, born and raised in Eastman, had lived in Cochran for 63 years with the love of his life, Sandra Faye. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Harris and Mattie C. Grenade, his brother, Henry Grenade, and son-in-law Allen Brantley. He retired from Bluebird after 30 years of service. He served faithfully at Southside Baptist Church for many years in a variety of roles, including serving as a deacon for 37 years. Calvin will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor with his distinctive laugh, his love of reading, and his devotion to lead and serve his family.

Survivors are his wife, Sandra Faye Grenade of Cochran; children, Kathy (Jamie) Brown of Cochran and Sheila Brantley of Cochran; grandchildren, Kristen (Eric) Reeves, Heather (Kelly) Hitchcock, Jenna (Matthew) Mosley, and Morgan (Phillip) Warren; and great-grandchildren, Emma, Abbi, Olivia, Anna, Ella, Allie, Madi, Brantley, Sadie, Fitz, and Mac; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 111 Diane St. and will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, April l5th, at Southside Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Southside Baptist Church are encouraged.
