Obituary

Cochran – James Wilbon Holland, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, in Atrium Health Navicent in Macon. Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Wilbon was lifelong resident of Bleckley County. He was the son of the late June E. "Buddy" and Esther Horne Holland and was preceded in death by his wife Mary Kate Holland; his, brother Ramon Holland and his sister-in-law, Ladean Peacock Holland. Mr. Wilbon was a graduate of Cochran High School, Class of 1953. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base where he worked as a quality control supervisor. After his retirement, he worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation and Cannon Auto Sales. Mr. Wilbon loved to eat steak, wear his coveralls and watch the Georgia Bulldog games on tv. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cochran.

Survivors are his children, Ricky (Wanda) Holland and Neysa (Randy) Atkinson all of Cochran; his grandchildren, Jonathan (Christen) Holland of Sterling, VA and Jessie (Chelsea) Holland of Phoenix, AZ; his great-grandson, Mason Holland.

The family is at 200 Holt Perkins Road, Cochran and will greet friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 P.M. on Thursday at Mathis Funeral Home.
