Cochran – James J. "Jim" Tripp, Jr., age 60, died Friday, June 24, 2022, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 26, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Jim, born in Macon, had lived all of his life in Cochran. He was a former heavy equipment operator for J.M. Huber Corporation and a 1980 graduate of Bleckley County High School. Jim loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles and was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association.

Survivors are his daughters, Tara Leigh Shorley and Tabitha Tripp both of St. Augustine, FL; his grandchildren, Ella Shorley and Emily Shorley of St. Augustine, FL; his parents, James J. "Jackie" Tripp of Cochran and Ann Simpson Durden of Cochran; stepbrothers, Tim (Renae) Lassiter of Hawkinsville and Terry (Lynn) Lassiter of Cochran; his fiancée; Lynn Crumpler of Cochran; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many close friends.

The family is at 194 Wood Duck Road, Cochran and will greet friends from 2:00 P.M. until time for the service Sunday at Mathis Funeral Home.
