Janelle Richardson
Perkins
Mar 14, 1931 — May 30, 2022
Cochran – Janelle Richardson Perkins, age 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, May 30, 2022. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens with Rev. Robbie Passmore officiating.
Mrs. Janelle, born in Dodge County had lived most of her life in Cochran. She was the daughter of the late Willie Carl and Ruby Joiner Richardson and was preceded in death by her husband, Cub Perkins, her granddaughter, Stephanie Howell and her sister, Fay Wildes. Mrs. Janelle was a retired LPN from the Bleckley County Health Department.
How do you sum up such an amazing woman's life in a space so small with so few words? Janelle was just simply herself, whether someone needed advice on how to handle one of life's curve balls or looking for good ole' fashioned truth, she gave it. Her personality and wisdom drew people to her. She never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone without need for attention or reward. Her only ask was that her morning coffee and honeybun not be interrupted. Outside of that, she was always welcoming of good company, contagious laughs and stories from the old days.
It is amazing how someone can love as much as she did and that love will continue to rain down from above as she continues to watch over us from her heavenly home. The warm and welcoming spirit she always showed here on earth will forever stay with us. The memories of Janelle will keep us smiling and knowing we will meet again will keep us going.
Survivors are her children, Gina (Gene) Howell and Ken (Marie) Perkins; grandchildren, Krystina, Whitney, Misti, Drew and Lori; great grandson, Griffin; several nieces and nephews.
We have been overwhelmed by the love and care given by Bleckley Memorial Hospital and her caregivers, Cassie Daniel, Joanie Brock, Mary Green, Michelle Gould, Mary Agnes Carter and Jennifer McClinton.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made Agape Hospice, payable to Serenity Foundation, 1111 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin, GA 31021.
The family will greet friends after the service Tuesday at Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.
