Chester – Jerry Gilbert, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at his residence. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Rowland Chapel Church of the Nazarene. The Family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private in Rowland Memorial Cemetery.

Jerry, born in Dublin, was a life-long resident of Chester. He was the son of the late Barney and Annie Ruth Gilbert and was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Gilbert and his siblings, Joey and Mark Gilbert.

Jerry had worked as a general contractor in Dodge County throughout his adult life. Taught by his daddy, He was highly sought after for his work ethic and skills.

Survivors are his wife, Karen Allen Gilbert of Chester, his daughters, Brittany Maddox (Justin) of Chester and Alicia Southerland (Brian) of Eastman; his stepdaughter, Ashley Hawkins of Warner Robins; his brother, Johnny Gilbert (Pam) of Chester; his grandchildren, Greyson, Madison, Gracie, Karianna and Kendrix.

Jerry loved life with his family, his friends and his dogs, Luna and Max. He was so happy when he was outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and riding his buggy to the river with friends.

Jerry will be missed by his family and friends who loved him so much.
