Macon – Jerry Ray Hawkins, age 71, died Sunday, October 3, 2021, in Piedmont Macon Medical Center in Macon. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. in Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Cochran.

Mr. Hawkins was raised and had lived most of his life in Hawkinsville before moving to Macon. He was the son of the late John Clayborn and Pearl Hendrix Hawkins and was preceded in death by his infant twin sister, Faye Hawkins. He was a 1968 graduate of Hawkinsville High School and received a computer science certificate from Middle Georgia Technical College. He had worked at Pabst Brewing Company and was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Christian Baptist.

Survivors are his sons, David Shaw Hawkins of Brunswick and Jerry Wayne Hawkins of Hawkinsville; mother of his children, Joyce Ann Hawkins of Pineview, several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the donor's local animal shelter.

The family will greet friends after the service Thursday at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.
