Gulfport, MS – Jimmy David "J.D." Stroud, age 25, died Tuesday, September 8, 2020 in Gulfport, MS. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private.

J.D., born in Hawkinsville, had lived most of his life in Cochran before moving to Gulfport one year ago. He was the grandson of the late Jimmy Lee Walker. He was a ground maintenance worker with civil service and a 2013 graduate of Bleckley County High School. J.D. loved football, skateboarding, mudbogging and big trucks.

Survivors are his children, Annabelle Stroud and Lucy Stroud of Gulfport, MS; his fiancé, Miquela Prieto of Gulfport, MS; his parents, Lee and Ira Lena Mulkey of Warner Robins; his sisters, Brittany (Tyler) Long of Twiggs County and Harley Mulkey of Warner Robins; half-brothers, Andrew Stroud and Anthony Stroud of Lake City, FL; half-sister, Summer Stephenson of Lake City, FL; his grandparents, Laverne Benson Walker of Cochran and Sandy and Susan Mulkey of Richville, UT; several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends one hour before the service Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
