Cochran – Jimmy Reese Smith, II, age 65, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025, in Bryant Nursing Center. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Twiggs County. The family will greet friends after the service Wednesday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Reese, born in Eastman, had lived in Twiggs County before moving to Cochran in 1991. He was the son of the late Jimmy Reese and Eleanor Maddox Smith and the husband of the late Cathy Pope Smith. He was retired from Blue Bird Bus Company, had worked for The Scruggs Company and Impromech. Reese loved to fish and was a member of Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors are his children, Kelli (Rocky) Bass and Chad Smith of Cochran; his grandchildren, Austin Smith and Kinley Smith of Cochran; his brother, Danny Smith of Vidalia; his sister, Vonda (Charles) McDonald of Springfield; several nieces and nephews.
