Cochran - Jo Elizabeth Freeman, age 85, died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at Serenity Place in Dublin, Georgia. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at 312 Old Eastman Road, Cochran, Georgia, the residence of her son, Scott Freeman.

Jo Elizabeth was born in Ray City, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Margaret Griffin Luke and J. B. Luke.  She was preceded in death by her husband, David Ward Freeman, son, Doyle Shane (Buck) Freeman and a sister, Beverley Ann Lightfoot. She was born and raised in Berrien County Georgia. She resided in Apalachicola, Florida, Fort Worth, Texas, Monticello, Florida, and Tallahassee, Florida where she worked in banking and was a homemaker until she came to reside with her son in Cochran, Georgia. She was a former resident of At Home Senior Living.

Survivors are her son, David Scott Freeman and daughter in law, Lynn Fordham Freeman, very special friend, Karen (Gary) Wood, her aunt, Nina Billingsly of Tallahassee, Florida, nephews, Mike and Mark Lightfoot of Fort Worth, Texas, and a grandson, David Shane Freeman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and two great grandchildren and a host of cousins.

Special thanks to her caregivers Angie Gibbs, Shaundreeka Maunual, Casey Rowland, Debra Sue Thomas and many others over the yeaars. The family would also like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Eric Long, his nurse Susan Woodard and the entire staff of the Surgical Institute of Atrium Navicent Health.
