Cochran – JoAnn Oxley Lucas, age 70, died Friday, August 4, 2023, in the Dodge County Hospital. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 7, 2023, at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Rowland Family Cemetery in Chester.

Mrs. JoAnn, born in Laurens County, had lived most of her life in Cochran. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Theodore "Theo" Oxley and Irene Minter Rowland Oxley and was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine Rowland, Opal Rowland, Peggy Rowland and an infant sister. She was a retired nurse and attended Sweet Home Primitive Baptist Church in Chester.

Survivors are her children, Brian (Christy) Lucas of Rhine and Christie (William, Jr.) Williams of Cochran; her grandchildren, Brilee Lucas, Kinslee Lucas, Caitlin Lucas, Madison Lucas, Jaden Williams and Journei Williams; great granddaughter, Autumn; her sisters, Carolyn Rozar, Grace Maddox, Betty Rogers all of Cochran and Joyce (Bobby) Cannon of Chester; several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends one hour before the service Monday at Mathis Funeral Home and will gather for a meal at the Cochran Masonic Lodge, 115 Masonic Dr., Cochran, GA 31014 at 5:00 P.M. Monday.
