Hawkinsville - Joe "Joe Boy" Passmore, Jr, age 77, passed away after a battle with cancer on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at his residence. Funeral Services will be private. The family will greet friends and family Tuesday, August 3, 2021, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., at the residence located at 232 Cochran Highway, Hawkinsville, GA 31036.

Joe was born on October 31, 1943 in the Mill Village in Hawkinsville, Georgia, to the late Joe, Sr. and Minton Brady Passmore. He was an Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War.  Joe retired from Anchor Glass in Warner Robins, Georgia, after 32 years. He cherished time spent with his wife, children and extended family. He was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church in Hawkinsville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Passmore; brothers, Coleman K. Passmore and Dennis Passmore; brothers-in-law, Roger Coleman, Buddy Cranford, Ellis Scarborough, Richard Babb, and Rufus Stokes; sister-in-law, Betty Passmore; son-in-law, William David Harris, and his beloved dog, Sadie.

Survivors include daughter, Tammi Harris of Florida; son, Gene Passmore of Hawkinsville; grandchildren, Chelsea (Hunter) Maddox of Montrose; Zachary Tyner (Kelly Philipps); great-grandchildren, Colleen Tyner, Emily and Cayson Maddox of Montrose; sisters, Jenelle Stokes; Josephine Coleman; Tyine Scarborough all of Hawkinsville; Nikki (Allen) Morrow of Cordele; and Billie Faye Cranford of Cochran; sister in law; Lib Babb of Greenville, SC; along with many nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

The family will be located at 232 Cochran Highway, Hawkinsville, Georgia, 31036.
