Obituary

Cochran - Joey "JoJo" Edward Yeomans sadly passed away on August 19th, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. Joey was born to the late James Yeomans and Dorothy (Dot) Yeomans on August 26th, 1969. He was the grandson of the late Edward Lee Yeomans and Jewell M. Yeomans, and Joseph William Bridges and Maggie Jewell Conner Bridges.  After graduating from Telfair County High School, Joey entered the workforce. Joey has worked at Quality Saw Works, YDC, Sara Lee Bread Company, the Bleckley County Sheriff's Department and most recently, was a lieutenant with the Dodge County Sheriff's Department.

Joey was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Eastman where he served as youth pastor for many years. After moving to Cochran, he attended House of Grace Church. He loved playing softball for both churches in his spare time.

Joey could almost always be found on his farm tending to his chickens and goats or sitting in his chair with his dog Maggie which he often referred to as his daughter.

His family and friends will remember him as a hard-working family man. He loved to be surrounded by his family and friends wherever he went. His humor and his big heart are qualities that many have always admired about him.

Mr. Yeomans is survived by his wife of 20 years, Tina Yeomans as well as his children Tyler Yeomans of Perry and Kyler Parr of Cochran. Joey was a wonderful brother to Patti (Tim) Deep of McRae, Pam (Carl) Holt of Lumber City, and Jim (Michele) Yeomans of Wrightsville. Joey was the best uncle to his nieces and nephews, T.J. Deep and John (Sarah) Deep of McRae, Kenny (Deanna) Holt of Jacksonville, Jena (Kaleb) McDonald of Broxton, and Seth (Mariah) Yeomans, Abigail (Jonathan) Beck, Isaiah Yeomans, and Elizabeth Yeomans all of Wrightsville. He was the great uncle of Alayna, Ethan, and Eli Holt and Jaxon McDonald.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 2:00 P.M in the chapel Mathis Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Yeomans and Rev. Doug Bridges officiating. Burial will be in the Milan City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mathis Funeral Home.
