Obituary

Cochran - John Freeman Floyd, age 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 19, 2021.  Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 2:00 P.M., in Evergreen Baptist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Floyd, born in Danville, GA, had lived most of his life in Danville and Bleckley County.  He was the son of the late Fay Floyd and Iduma Floyd and was preceded in death by his brothers, W.L. Floyd and Tom Floyd.  He retired from J.M. Huber, attended elementary school in the Cary community and received his GED.  He was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church and a member of the New Look Sunday School class.  He loved outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, jogging and bicycling.

Survivors are his beloved wife Sara Joyner Floyd of Cochran; his children, Teresa Floyd Dykes, Barbara Floyd Darsey, Debra (Stevie) Dennard and Sharon Floyd all of Cochran; his brothers Odell Floyd and Alton Floyd (Brenda); 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to the donor's charity of choice or Evergreen Baptist Church, 1126 GA-87 BUS, Cochran, GA 31014.  After the service at Evergreen Baptist Church, a funeral procession will proceed to Cedar Hill Cemetery, Cochran GA.

The family is at 128 Limestone Rd and will greet friends at Cedar Hill Cemetery after a brief prayer.  The services will be live streamed on October 21, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. (mathisfh.net click on facebook icon).
