Cary – John W. Kirkpatrick, Jr. age 85, died Friday, May 20, 2022, in the Bleckley Memorial Hospital in Cochran. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery

Mr. Kirkpatrick, born in Ocilla, had lived in Cary 45 years. He was the son of the late John William, Sr. and Gladys Nobles Kirkpatrick and was preceded in death by his son Sam Kirkpatrick and his sister, Jackie Chapman. Mr. John was retired from Robins Air Force Base and faithfully attended Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Danville.

Survivors are his wife, Gay Dennard Kirkpatrick of Cary; his children, Dan (Sherryan Yarborough) Kirkpatrick of Greenville, SC, Lena (James L.) Oates of Register and Julie Champion of Dublin; his grandchildren, Robbie (Maegan) Rowe, Lauren Rowe, Eli Kirkpatrick, Abi Oates, Emi Oates and Luc Oates; his great grandchildren, R.J. Rowe and Knox Rowe; his sisters, Sarah Faulk of Twiggs County, Janet Kirkpatrick Shelnutt of Allentown, Sue (Bobby) Rutherford of Cochran and Shelia (Mike) Kitchens of Gordon; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 331 Sanders Rd, Danville, GA 31017

The family will greet friends after the service Sunday at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
