Cary - John Steve Moore Jr., age 82, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Graveside services will be held at Elsharath Missionary Baptist Church on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., where family and friends will gather to honor his life and legacy.

Born in Macon, Georgia, on May 13, 1943, Steve grew up in Twiggs County and was a proud graduate of Twiggs County High School. He spent his career as a Quality Control Inspector with Crown Cork and Seal, retiring in 1992. Steve also served faithfully for many years in the Army Reserves, a commitment he carried with quiet pride.

Steve was a man who loved the outdoors and found joy in every season of life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, and especially playing golf—often alongside his granddaughter, who treasured those rounds with him. On the golf course, he was affectionately known as "Bigfoot," a nickname that still brings smiles to those who shared the fairways with him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Raines Moore; his daughter, Ginger Fears, and her husband, Randy Fears; his granddaughter, Lacey Fears Sanders, and her husband, Seth; and his great-grandson, Jack Sanders. He is also survived by his siblings, George Moore, Annette Faulk, and Elaine Moore, along with a number of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Elsharath Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 W. Clyde Moore Rd, Cochran GA 31014.
