Cochran – John P. Parks, age 75, died Saturday, July 3, 2021, in Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Parks, born in Jefferson, had moved to Cochran in 1974 and then moved to Tifton in 1994 and moved back to Cochran in 2014. Mr. John was the son of the late Henry Osborne and Lucille Sears Parks and was the husband of the late Gail Smith Parks. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, H.O. Parks, Jr., Willie Parks, Ruby Sweeney, Garnett Parks, Francis Roberts and Betty Davis. He was a retired District Extension Director and County Extension Agent from the University of Georgia Extension Service and a farmer. He was a 1964 graduate of Jefferson High School, a graduate of the University of Georgia and Auburn University. Mr. John was a member of House of Grace.

Survivors are his son, Walt (Sheryl) Parks of Cochran; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Ethan and Eli Parks of Cochran; his sisters, Alma Aiken and Clara (Burley) Hemphill all of Jefferson; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 177 Jeanne Dr., Cochran and will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Mathis Funeral Home
