Joseph Lee Daniell, age 55, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2026, at his residence in Cochran. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026, in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in Akridge Cemetery in Camilla.
Born on August 3, 1971, in Panama City, Florida, Joseph built a life marked by varied interests, personal drive, and devotion to his children. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1989, and later graduated from Denver University with a degree in accounting. Over the years, he was known as an entrepreneur and, most importantly to him, a full-time dad.
Joseph’s life reflected a wide range of passions. Considered by some to be “unique”, he embraced the things he enjoyed with unmistakable enthusiasm. He loved to travel and appreciated good food. He enjoyed going to the beach, swimming, body surfing, and even having tanning contests. He was also known on social media as “Spacehead” and “Spacey,” names that became part of his public identity. Joseph was a techno lover and a wanna-be race car driver, interests that spoke to his energy and individuality.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harper C. Daniell, Jr., and his stepfather, Richard M. “Rick” Greenman.
Survivors include his children, Matthew Huff, Cadence Huff, Flint Daniell, Briseis Daniell, and Aven Daniell; his mother, Valerie Greenman; and his brother, Harper Daniell and wife, Julia.
Joseph will be remembered for the life he lived in his own distinct way and for the place he held in the lives of those named here.
