Obituary

Cochran – Joseph Durell "Joe" Fletcher, age 63, passed away peacefully, with his wife of 42 years holding his hand, on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.

Joe, born in Hawkinsville, had lived most of his life in Cochran. He was the son of the late Thomas Durell Fletcher and was preceded in death by his brother, Don Fletcher. Joe was an owner/operator truck driver for Lumber Transport. He enjoyed fishing, old trucks, coaching his boys in recreation ball, spending time at Cape Sand Blas, FL with his family and Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Joe loved his wife, his boys, his grandchildren, his family and friends.

Survivors are his wife, Karen D. Fletcher of Cochran; his children, Don (Jes) Fletcher, Josh (Quincey) Fletcher and Nick (Annie) Fletcher all of Cochran; his grandchildren, Kellan, Karlyn, Karsyn, Zoey and Jack; his mother, Myra Kaufman of Cochran; his brothers, Robert (Teresa) Fletcher of Cochran and Jimmy (Lisa) Fletcher of Chester; his sister, Betty (Lee) Delph of Cochran; cousin, Mike Fletcher of Warner Robins; step-brother and close friend, Paul (Patty) Gilbert, Jr. of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 119 Osprey Road, Cochran and will greet friends Tuesday after the committal at Pulaski-Bleckley Memorial Gardens.
