Judith Elaine Rozier Johnson passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 16, 1949, Judy was the third of four children born to the late W.R. Rozier, Jr. and Laurine Collins Rozier. Following graduation from Cochran High School Class of 1968, she became a licensed cosmetologist and worked at several beauty shops in Cochran and once owned her own shop at her home in Cary. Judy later became a devoted “homemaker,” and prior to chronic illness affecting her health in her latter years, she was known for her good cooking and baking, especially around Christmas. She enjoyed staying around the house and loved her family dearly.
Judy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Danny (Tootsie) Johnson; her two sons, Danny (Cheri) Johnson, Jr. of Dexter and Eric Johnson of Cary; grandchildren – Gracie Drue Johnson of Atlanta, Jesse Tod Johnson of Dublin, and Skyler (Colton) Cheely of Warrenton; great grandchildren – Joey and Jackson Wayne Cheely of Warrenton; sister – Sue Rozier Dominy of Cary; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 10:00-10:45a.m. Burial will be private at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted; however, donations can also be made in her honor to the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
