Empire – Kathryn King, age 92, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. Kathryn will be laid to rest by her husband, Robert Bruce King, in Bowers Cemetery. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Kathryn, was born January 31, 1933, the youngest daughter of the late Robert F. and Georgia Hitt Floyd, both of Augusta, GA and was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Floyd of Columbia, SC, Mary Harris McCorkle of Tallahassee, FL, Helen Odell Pellegrin of Metairie, LA, and her grandson, Paul Bruce Smith, Jr. of Eastman, GA.  She worked many years at Jac-Arts Label Factory in Cochran and taught school at Twiggs Academy in Jeffersonville, GA. Mrs. Kathryn's favorite pass time was working in her flower beds and loving her grandchildren. She was a member of Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church in Empire.

Survivors are her children, Suzanne (Carlis) Wynne; Lisa (Bill) Jackson and Robert Calhoun King; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
