Cochran – Larry D. "Buddy" Belflower, age 80, died Thursday, July 19, 2018, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Bowers Cemetery.
Mr. Belflower was born and had lived most of his life in Empire. He was the son of the late Kannah and Mary Floyd Belflower and was preceded in death by his first wife, Jenelle Dixon Belflower and four siblings. He was retired from Blue Bird/Wanderlodge Bus Company in Ft. Valley and had served in the Georgia National Guard. Mr. Buddy was a member of Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church and founded and sang with the gospel group "The Belflower Family".
Survivors are his wife, Mildred Sapp Belflower of Cochran; his children, Randy (Annette) Belflower of Eastman, Myra (Jackie) Rozier of Cochran, Carol (John) Smith of Minnesota, Teresa (Gilbert) White of Cedar Grove and Lisa (John) Kirkpatrick of Empire; step-son, Kenny (Penny) Elliott of Cochran; brother, Lee (Sue) Belflower of Empire; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church, 101 Church St., Cochran, GA 31014.
The family is at 146 Lakeview Church Road and will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. until time for the service Saturday at Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church.
