Obituary

Dublin - Lila Dickinson LaBonte, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024, in Dublin Square Assisted Living facility Dublin, GA.  Graveside services will be held Monday, December 2, 2024, at 3:00 pm in Poplar Springs Church Cemetery in Adrian, GA.

Lila was the daughter of the late Leonard and Pearl Dickinson.  She was born in Atlanta, GA and was raised in a military family that traveled all over the US and overseas.  She was married to Clayton LaBonte, who was also in the Air Force.  They lived in many places as well, such as Texas, New York and Panama, before Clayton retired from the military and they settled down in Dublin Georgia, where she has been for the last 41 years.  While living in Dublin, Lila joined the Preceptor Alpha Nu chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, which she was a member of for 20 years.  Lila worked for The Dublin VA medical center as a secretary and later an IT help desk tech.  She is preceded in death by her Mom and Dad, Pearl and Leonard Dickinson, and her husband, Clayton Henry LaBonte.

She is survived by her children, Katherine LaBonte of Dublin, George LaBonte of Chandler, AZ and Aimee (Kevin) Beck of Chester; her grandson, Clayton Beck of Chester, her sister, Patricia Fresh of Dublin; several nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the many caregivers of Dublin Square in Dublin Ga for the wonderful care and love she received while living there the past few years.

The family will greet friends after the service at Poplar Springs on Monday, December 2, 2024.

In lieu of flowers the family of Lila would like trees planted in her memory.
