Lucius Edward Vaughn, Jr., age 79, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in Orange Hill Cemetery in Hawkinsville. The family will greet friends after the service at the cemetery.

Lucius was born on December 27, 1946, in Hawkinsville. He was the son of the late Lucius Edward Vaughn, Sr. and Alberta McKenzie Vaughn. He was a graduate of Gordon Military High School in Barnesville and later served in the United States Army as a Vietnam War Veteran.

Following his military service, Lucius worked for Georgia Power, where he devoted 37 years of service before his retirement. His long career reflected a significant chapter of his life and stood as one of his lasting accomplishments.

Faith was also an important part of his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hawkinsville and currently attended Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Lucius is survived by his wife of 34 years, Estelle Vaughn of Cochran; his stepchildren, Eddie Nobles of Allentown, Dennis (Darlene) Nobles and Teresa (Lee) Maddox of Cochran; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 134 Abney Rd, Cochran, GA 31014.
