Chester – Malcom V. "Mickey" Cox, Jr., age 69, died Sunday, October 2, 2022, in Atrium Navicent Health in Macon. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. in Rentz City Cemetery in Rentz.

Mickey, born in Columbus, had lived all his life in Rentz before moving to Chester 4 years ago. He was the son of the late Malcolm V. "Mike" Sr. and Resa Stribling Cox. He was a retired corrections officer for the State of Georgia and a 1970 graduate of West Laurens High School. Mickey was a member of the Dexter Masonic Lodge #340 F&AM, a Shriner of Al Sihah Shrine Center with the Wayfarers Shrine Unit of Dublin and a member of Klassic Autos Shrine Unit. He was a member of the Georgia Peace Officers Association and loved hunting and fishing. Mickey was a member of Rentz Baptist Church in Rentz.

Survivors are his sister, Doreen (Stuart) Rogers of Chester; nieces and nephews, Kelly Rogers, Michael Rogers, Blakelyn Rogers and Bryson Justice.

The family is at 5538 Old Railroad Bed Road in Chester and will greet friends after the service Wednesday at Rentz City Cemetery.
