Ayden, NC – Margaret Ann "Maggie" Johnson, age 59, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 4, 2019, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Margaret Ann, born in Little Rock, Arkansas, was the daughter of the late Hubert Morris Mitchell and was preceded in death by her husband Charles "Freddie" Johnson. Margaret proudly served in the United States Air Force. She obtained her BSN form Gulf Coast Community College and spent her entire career working in the healthcare industry. She was a traveling nurse and working at Vidant Medical Center. In her spare time, when she wasn't caring for the sick, she enjoyed baking, cooking and any form of Arts and Crafts. Margaret also looked forward to the next fishing adventure.

Survivors are her sons, Christopher (Diana) Cruz of Ayden, NC and Dane Cruz of Albemarle, NC; her daughter, Niki (Deshun) Bland of Warner Robins; her mother, Vivian Nixon Mitchell of Warner Robins, brothers, Hubert Morris "Uncle Bub" Mitchell, Jr. of Warner Robins and Ted (Amy) Mitchell of Arkansas; sister, Angela (Steve) Spaid of West Virginia; seven very special grandchildren, Kobe, Kaleb Vanessa, Judah, Dylan, Morrigan and Isaiah.

The family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until time for the service Monday at Mathis Funeral Home.
