Cochran – Marion Olen Hornsby, age 86, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Marion, born in Columbus, GA, had lived most of his life in Cochran. He was the son of the late, Marion Alton and Carolyn Josephine Rodgers Hornsby, was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margie Pope Hornsby; his daughter, Beth Hornsby and his brother, Tim Hornsby. Mr. Marion was retired Director of Plant Operations at Middle Georgia College and was a US Army Veteran. He was a member of Cochran First Methodist Church and had attended House of Grace.

Survivors are his daughter, Shelby (Randall) Goetz of Cochran; his grandchildren, Jeff (Mandi) Kirkland, Kyle (Halanah) Kirkland and Amanda Goetz; great grandchildren, Luke Kirkland, Emmett Kirkland and Colby Kirkland; his sisters, Estelle (Larry) Smith of Macon; Sarah Harrison of Indian Land, SC and Edith Faulk of Jeffersonville; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 158 Robert Dr., Cochran and will greet friends after the service Wednesday at Mathis Funeral Home.
