Marjorie "Margie" Bridgers, 70, a beloved mother, grandmother, and a bright light in her community, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. A woman of profound faith and extraordinary talent, Margie spent her life lifting others up through her music and her unwavering spirit.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. A visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Born to Kenny and Carolyn Kinchen, Margie's journey was shaped by her deep-rooted faith and her extraordinary musical talent. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, she became a cornerstone of The Samaritans, captivating audiences with her powerful and soul-stirring voice. Her ministry through song continued as she lent her talents to the South Georgia Quartet and Crossroads Quartet, as well as sharing her gift with her home congregation at Cochran Church of God. Margie's performances were more than just music—they were heartfelt expressions that touched all who listened and forged lasting friendships within her community.

Margie's influence extended far beyond the stage. She was a steadfast presence for her family, offering strength and laughter through life's challenges. Her grace and quick wit remained undiminished even in her final days, serving as an inspiration to those around her.

She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Steve Bridgers Sr., and her parents, Kenny and Carolyn Kinchen.

Margie's legacy continues through her children: Stephanie (Chad) Bohannon, Shelley (Roy) Darden, and Steven (Melissa) Bridgers Jr. She was also the proud grandmother of Blake (Kayla) Bohannon, Breeann Bohannon, Landon Bridgers, Levi Bridgers, Kade (Nicole) Daniels, Clay Daniels, Avery Daniels, Vanessa Darden and Olivia Darden; three great-grandchildren; and her sisters Sherry Yawn, Cathy Neumans, and Tammy Allen. She is also remembered by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Though Margie's voice is now silent here on earth, it lives on in the hearts and memories of those who heard her sing and cherished by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
