Cochran - Mary Cook Brown, age 96, passed away Monday, July 25, 2022 at Bryant Nursing Center in Cochran. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at 11:00 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church in Cochran. Burial will be private at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Cochran.

Mrs. Mary, born in Kentucky on April 2, 1926, had lived in Cochran for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ludie Bond Cook, her husband, Robert F. "Bob" Brown, Jr., her brother, William S. Cook and her sisters, Mable Cook, Dorothy Cook, and Myrtle Lee Loveall. Before retiring, Mary worked for the Cochran Journal and Lyles Department Store. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, which she attended faithfully as long as she was physically able. She loved the Lord and gave him the glory for her long life. Mary lived at Green Meadows Assisted Living in Cary for 12 years. She adored her caregivers there and thought of them as family.

She is survived by two nieces, Mary Ann Sherman and Sharon Loveall of Texas, her caregiver, Patricia Brown Dykes of Cochran and her dear friends Kemper Meadows, Brenda and Jack Spears and Olivia Sanders.

The family will greet friends after the service Wednesday at the church.

The family will not be receiving guests at home.
