Twiggs County – Mary Ellen Long, age 92, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in Elsharath Baptist Church in Twiggs County. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Mary was born on December 12, 1930, and was a lifelong resident of Twiggs County. She was the daughter of the late John Lee and Lois Viola Coxwell Long and was preceded in death by her spouses, Robert Lee Hogan and Mack Harvey "Possum" Long, her sons, Shelton Long, Mac Long, Tex Hogan and Roy Hogan. She was a homemaker and had worked at L&H Shirt factory. She was a member of El Sharath Baptist Church.

Survivors are her children, Carolyn Rogers, Johnny (Sonya) Long, Roger (Willie Mae) Hogan and Peggy Jean Long; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

The family is at 522 Elsharah Church Rd and will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M., Saturday at Elsharath Baptist Church.
