Chester – Mattie Lou Fountain Rogers, age 89, died Tuesday, August 18, 2020, peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, August 20, 2020, at 10:00 A.M. in Rogers Family Cemetery in Yonker.

Mrs. Rogers, born July 20, 1931 in Dexter, Georgia, was the daughter of the late Wylie and Lillian Culpepper Fountain. She was the wife of the late Melvin C. Rogers and was preceded in death by four brother and two sisters. She was a graduate of Dexter High School, worked at the Bank of Chester, was a volunteer at Chester Elementary in various roles and retired from Dexter Pants Factory. Mrs. Mattie Lou was a member of Chester United Methodist Church.

Survivors are her children, James (Kathy) Rogers and John (Shasta) Rogers of Chester and Brenda (Jim) Kiger of Douglasville; her beloved grandchildren, Collins, Atticus, Barbara, Ellie and Jackson; her great granddaughter, Addie; several nieces and nephews.

Because of Covid-19, the family request that you may honor her memory with memorials to Kindred Hospice, 105 Jim Mason Court, Suite 100, Warner Robins, GA 31088.

The family will greet friends after the service Thursday at Rogers Family Cemetery.
