Obituary

Cochran – Maxwell Junior Peacock, age 91, died Monday, February 1, 2021, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Junior, born in Laurens County, had lived most of his life in Bleckley County and was the son of the late Henry Farris and Lillie Mae Garrett Peacock. He was the husband of the late Mary Lois Tidwell Peacock and was preceded in death by his son, Larry Peacock and his grandson, Brandon Itson. Mr. Junior was a retired mechanic and bus driver from Bleckley County Schools after more than 34 years of service. He served in the Georgia National Guard and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Survivors are his children, Judy (Dale) Itson and Jeff (Janet) Peacock of Cochran, Gale (Lawton) Kemp of Dudley; his sister, Wynelle P. Long of Cochran; his brother, Braxton Peacock of Gray; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; his special friend, Peggy Nobles; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church, 608 GA Highway 26 E, Cochran, GA 31014.

The family will greet friends after the service Thursday at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
