Cochran – Orene Davis Churchwell, age 86, died Sunday, April 5, 2020, at her residence. Private graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Churchwell was born and had lived most of her life in Bleckley County. She was the daughter of the late Early and Alice Sirmons Davis and was preceded in death by her brothers, Edsel Davis, Morris Davis, Julian Davis and Ralph Davis. She had worked at L&H Shirt Factory and was a homemaker. Mrs. Orene was a member of Ruth Baptist Church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors are her husband of 67 years, C.B. "Junior" Churchwell, Jr. of Cochran; her children, Wanda (Kenny) Thompson, Kay (Tony) Horne, Roger (Pam) Churchwell and Ricky (Brenda) Churchwell of Cochran; her grandchildren, Hunter Thompson, Katie (Tom) Cannon, Chad (Kayla) Churchwell, Justin (Melissa) Churchwell, Cody Churchwell, Dylan Churchwell, Jayden Churchwell, Luke Churchwell and Michael Horne; seven great grandchildren; her sisters, Margie (Jimmy) Helms of Griffin and Doris (Cliff) Churchwell of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.
