Cochran – Oris Bennie "Sonny" Darsey, age 75, passed away Friday, July 14, 2023, in Shamrock Nursing Home in Dublin. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be private in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Sonny was a lifelong resident of Cochran. He was the son of the late Bennie and Johnnie Chance Darsey and was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Darsey Knighton Kimberly. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base after 47 years. Sonny was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are his sons, Randy (Frederica) Darsey of Cordele and Terry (Karla) Darsey of Cochran; his brothers, Bo (Gayle) Darsey and Keith (Carleen) Darsey all of Cochran; his sisters, Joan (Bobby) Bowman, Ellen (Donald) Cooper and Dianne (W.H.) Rogers all of Cochran; his grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends after the service Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
