Hawkinsville – Otis W. McDaniel, age 92, died Thursday, August 22, 2019, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 26, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Baptist Cemetery in Dexter with Masonic Rites.

Mr. McDaniel, born in Hawkinsville, had lived in Michigan before moving to Hawkinsville in 1987. He was the son of the late Otis Washington, Sr. and Maggie Smallwood McDaniel. He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Michigan and a US Army Veteran and was stationed in Japan. He was a member of the Mount Hope Masonic Lodge #9 F&AM and a Shriner. He was a member of Broad Street Baptist Church in Hawkinsville.

Survivors are his wife, Ruthie Barron McDaniel of Hawkinsville; his son, Larry (Debbie) McDaniel of Hawkinsville; his grandchildren, Timothy McDaniel and Jamie McDaniel of Michigan; his great grandchildren, Holly and Dana McDaniel; his sister, Virginia Lavender of Gordon; his brother, James (Sandra) McDaniel of Danville; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Broad Street Baptist Church, 285 Broad Street, Hawkinsville, GA 31036

The family is at 805 Cochran Highway, Hawkinsville and will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. until time for the service Monday at Mathis Funeral Home.
