Obituary

Cochran – Pauline "Polly" Taylor Littlefield, age 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10, 2024, in Atrium Health Navicent in Macon. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. at Faith Baptist Church in Cochran.

Mrs. Polly was born on March 4, 1937, in Chester. She was the daughter of the late J.W. Taylor and Allie "Big Mama" Harrison Taylor Bass. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Littlefield, I; her siblings, Dorothy Taylor Eaton, Shirley Taylor Coyne and Carolyn Taylor Smith Woods; her stepson, Bill Littlefield, II.

Mrs. Polly lived in Cochran during her elementary school years, but she spent the majority of her childhood in Savannah. She and her family lived in a house on Bull Street, in Savannah, across from Bull Street Baptist Church. She graduated from high school in Savannah in 1955. She was retired and had worked for Fountainhead Memorial Funeral Home in Palm Bay, FL. Mrs. Polly was a very good cook. She made the best brownies and German chocolate cake with caramel icing.  She also enjoyed reading. Mrs. Polly was loved and dearly loved her "Beau", Mr. Newell NeSmith for 15 years. They would go dancing at the Oak Grove Jamboree every Friday night at the Oak Grove Community Center.  She loved to travel, go on road trips and go out to eat. Mrs. Polly loved people and she loved life.

Mrs. Polly put her Lord and Savior first in her life. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and help minister to other by teaching bible classes at women's prisons.

Survivors are her children, Joey Proffitt of Saint Marys, Terra Proffitt Lucent of Cochran and Kathy Murphy of Perry; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; her stepdaughter, Ginny Mazelin; her sister, Bessie Annette Taylor (Stanley) Bond of Savannah; her nieces and nephews, Chris Bond, Stan Bond, Sandy Bond, Jaydon Smith, Sammy Smith, Marina Kasovia, Celeste Reut, Marlene Leonard and David Allen.

The family will greet friends after the service, Saturday, at Faith Baptist Church.
