Pearl Smith Kreindler, age 84, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024, from an injury sustained in a fall. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 2:00 P.M., in Limestone Baptist Church. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Pearl was born in Bleckley County, GA, the daughter of the late Robert Monroe and Louise Leona Hatfield Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 1/2 years, Jordan Kreindler, and her sisters, Belva Pritchett and Donnis Fowler. She graduated from Bleckley County High School and Auburn University. Pearl was an elementary school teacher for many years. She later became an Associate Executive Director with the University of Southern California's Arlington, VA campus until her retirement in 1990. Pearl and Jordan experienced life to the fullest and traveled the world together. They lived in Phoenix, AZ, metro-Washington, DC, metro-Philadelphia, PA, Palo Alto, CA and Hong Kong, China before returning home to Cochran. Their most enjoyable time was their many years living in Hong Kong and being there during the return of Hong Kong from Great Britain to China.
She is survived by her niece Jerell (Stan) Thomas; great nieces, Megan (Kane) Ateshian and McKenna Thomas; great-great niece and nephew, Aviana and Toran Ateshian.
Her family will greet friends after the service on Saturday at Limestone Baptist Church.
