Cochran – Peggy Chance Dillard, age 88, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Peggy, born in Bleckley County, was the daughter of the late Rachel S. and Sudie Ray Johnson Chance. She was the wife of the late Robert W. "Bobby" Dillard and was preceded in death by her brother, Glen Chance. She was a retired secretary from the Dodge County Board of Education and had worked at L&H Shirt Factory. Mrs. Peggy was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors are her children, Anita (Roger) Brown of Yonker, Elaine (Russell) Mullis, Dana (Keith) Yawn and Stan Dillard all of Cochran; her grandchildren, Jessica (Bryan) Leaptrot, Jonathan (Elizabeth) Brown, Jayci Yawn, Kendall Yawn, Makayla (Will) Wade; Sonya Fordham, Ray Smith and Victoria Mullis; twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; her twin sister, Freddy Nichols of Warner Robins; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at the Yawn residence 1436 Macedonia Church Road, Cochran and will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday at Mathis Funeral Home.
