Cochran - Perry Monroe Dykes, age 86 of Cochran, Georgia passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Atrium Health Navicent Medical Center in Macon. A private funeral service for the family will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Mathis Funeral Home in Cochran, Georgia. Private burial will be held Friday, January 19, 2024, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park.

Perry was born on October 15, 1937, to the late Johnnie Elford and Bertie Jane Dykes. He was also preceded in death by his brother, the Rev. Garvin Dykes and a grandson, David Monroe Reyes. He served as an Airman, Second Class in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960 when he was honorably discharged. Perry met and married the love of his life, the late Doreen Murphy Dykes in Essex, England while serving in the United States Air Force. He worked for Metropolitan Exterminating Company in College Park, Georgia for several years and owned Cochran Seafood prior to his retirement. He loved spending time with his family, especially all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Dykes is survived by his daughters: Pandora (Keith) Palmer of McDonough and Deborah Walkinsun of Cochran, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Faye Dykes and Pat Humphrey, grandchildren, Tiffany, Briana, Justin, Connor and Jake and eight great grandchildren as well as multiple nephews, a niece and extended family.
