Cochran – William Ray Giddens, Jr., age 64, died Friday, July 9, 2021, at Serenity Place in Dublin. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. in Macedonia Baptist Church in Cochran. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Ray, born in Macon County, GA, had lived most of his life in Cochran and spent a few years in New Smyrna Beach FL. He was the son of the late William Ray, Sr. and Louise Robinson Giddens. After retiring from construction with the Georgia Department of Corrections, Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in his shop making knives and working with boats. Ray was a 1974 graduate of Cochran High School and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and enjoyed reading his Bible.

Survivors are his daughter, Heather (David) Richards and two grandsons, Eli and Griffin Richards of Winter Haven, FL.; his sister, Debbi (David) Sawyer of Cochran; his brother, Mark (Gay) Giddens of Powder Springs and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, 1100 Macedonia Church Road, Cochran, GA 31014

The family will greet friends one hour before the service Saturday at Macedonia Baptist Church.
