Cochran – Raymond F. "Ray" Smith, III, age 62, died Thursday, July 30, 2020, in Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ray, born in Long Beach, CA, had lived most of his life in Cochran. He was the son of the late Raymond Felton, Jr. and Jewel Hall Smith. He was a former owner and operator of Smith Cabinet Shop in Warner Robins. Ray was a 1977 graduate of Cochran High School and a member of the Royal Baseball Team. He was an avid bowler and loved dirt track car racing. Ray was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors are his children, Sonya (Jason) Fordham and Ray Smith, IV of Cochran and Shannon Harrell of Eastman; grandchildren, Halie Fordham, Jay Fordham, Hannah Smith, Lydia Smith, Khloe Parker, Memphis Smith and Sophia Parker; his sisters, Debbi (Kevin) Gowins of Byron and Diana (Paul) Busby of Warner Robins; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 253 Gerald Floyd Road, Cochran and will greet friends after the service Tuesday at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
