Cochran – Rex O. Mittelstadt, Jr, age 65, passed away Sunday morning, February 23, 2020, at his daughter's home in Cochran. A Celebration of Life and graveside services will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, CA at a later date.

Rex, known as "Jr." to family and friends, was born on May 9, 1954 in Lodi, CA to Betty Knittel and Rex O. Mittelstadt, Sr. He was the second of four children that included his older sister Kathleen Mittelstadt, his younger sister Sharon Robertson and his younger brother Dale Mittelstadt. Jr. grew up in Lodi, CA and graduated from Lodi High School in 1972. He served as a marine mechanic in the United States Navy aboard the USS Midway during the Vietnam War. He married in 1977 to Pamela J. Kelso and the couple had three children; two sons Jason and Kristopher Mittelstadt and one daughter Kimberly Mittelstadt.

Jr. enjoyed life. He loved camping, boating, fishing and most of all deer hunting. He was a skillful mechanic and you were most likely to see him out cruising around town on his "purple" Harley. He was definitely one of a kind. He was a "tell it like it is" guy and his outspoken ways were simply Jr. His memories and his name will forever be carried on in many ways by his family.

Jr. was preceded in death by his parents Betty Knittel and Rex O. Mettelstadt, Sr.; his uncle Hessy and many other aunts and uncles; two grandchildren Collin A. P. Mittelstadt and Ethan Michael Moreno.

Survivors are his sons Jason Mittelstadt of Cochran, GA and Kristopher Mittelstadt of Volcano, CA; daughter Kimberly Mittelstadt of Cochran, GA; sisters Kathleen Mittelstadt and Sharon Mittelstadt; brother Dale Mittelstadt; 13 grandchildren, Trevor, Juanita, Allyssa, Jason Jr., Andrew, Renee, Aiden, Brenden, Jalin, Kristopher Jr., Jessica, Zachary and Paisley.
