Cochran - Richard Oliver "Rick" Boyd, Jr., age 69, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at his residence. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home.

Rick was born on June 2, 1955, in Miami, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Oliver Boyd, Sr. and his sisters, Peggy Sanders and Sandy Boyd. After High School, Rick served in the United States Air Force and was an aerospace control and warnings system specialist. After his service, he worked as a plumber, a pipefitter and in underground utility. He had lived in Miami, Savannah and Atlanta before moving to Cochran 20 years ago. He was retired from the City of Cochran where he had worked in Public Works. Rick was a Christian. He was a beloved father, treasured son, community servant and prayer warrior who was on fire for Christ.

He is survived by his son, Colt Boyd; his daughters, Krystle Boyd and Melody Boyd; his grandchildren, Adilyn Boyd, Alana Boyd, Loralei Boyd and River Burge; his mother, Carolyn Boyd and his sister, Beth Lewis.

The family will greet friends after the service on Sunday at Mathis Funeral Home.
