Cochran - Richard Alan "Ricky" Dykes, Sr., age 69, passed peacefully at his home on Monday, September 4, 2023. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 10:00 A.M. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Cary. Burial will be private in the church cemetery.

Ricky was the son the late Everett F. and Myrtle Hill Dykes and was preceded in death by brothers Butch Dykes and Van Dykes. He enjoyed his life's work with his family's highway construction business, was a member and past president of the Georgia Highway Contractors Association, and cherished the numerous coworkers, associates and friends made throughout his career. Ricky was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and a proud member of Cochran High School's Class of 1973.

Cherishing his memory and legacy are his wife of 50 years, Cay NeSmith Dykes, his children Libby and Will DeLoach and Rad and Heather Dykes, sisters Kaye Dykes Jobin and Deena Dykes, grandchildren William (Peyton) DeLoach, Benjamin (Katie) DeLoach, Lila Dykes, Coleman Dykes, Taylor (Zach) Faulk, Gavin Faulk, Mazie Cannon, and many beloved extended family members.

The family is at 565 Pea Ridge Road, Danville, GA 31017 (Bleckley County) and will greet friends after the service Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
