Obituary

Cochran – Robert A. "Ludy" Curington, age 91, died Sunday, July 18, 2021, in Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. in Cochran First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Ludy, born in Georgetown, GA, had lived most of his life in Cochran. He was the son of the late Thomas Franklin, Sr. and Frances Annette Gibson Curington. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Virginia Dykes Curington, his sons, Bill Curington and Bob Curington, his granddaughter, Kristen Curington, his brothers, Jack Curington and Tom Curington. He was a graduate of Cochran High School, a US Army Veteran and retired from Buddy NeSmith Oil Company. Mr. Ludy was a faithful and loyal member of the Cochran First United Methodist Church.

Survivors are his granddaughters, Cathryn Curington Eagle and Taylor Curington (Shawn) Upson of Jacksonville, FL; his great grandchildren, Ayden and Reagan Eagle; his daughter-in-law, Susan (John) Wittingslow of Jacksonville, FL; his sister, Nita Wimberly of Cochran; several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cochran First United Methodist Church, PO Box 87, Cochran, GA 31014.

The family is at 117 West Dykes St., Cochran and  will greet friends after the committal service at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
