Cochran – Robert Skipper, age 85, died Friday, September 7, 2018, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 9, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Skipper was a lifelong resident of Cochran. He was the son of the late Tullie Jefferson and Mary Lola Thompson Skipper. He was owner and operator of Skipper Trucking Company and Glo Service Station. He was a US Army Veteran. Mr. Robert loved playing the guitar with his "Music Friends" and was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife of 44 years, Mervin Skipper of Cochran; sisters, Ruby Manning and Esselean (Horace) Sanders of Cochran; sisters-in-law, Polly Skipper of Cochran and Martha Hodge of Eastman; several nieces and nephews.

The family is at 145 Bowman Drive and will greet friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday at Mathis Funeral Home.
